The Twelve Days of CROSSmas
The Twelve Days of CROSSmas

Here’s a new tradition to celebrate the runaway hit series CROSS on Prime Video — James Patterson’s picks for the twelve most cinematic books from the Alex Cross universe. Happy holidays — and happy reading!
Day 1
Never mind partridges. (A pear tree might be nice.) Start reading where it all began, with Along Came a Spider.
Day 2
For the second day of CROSSmas, go back to the scene of the original crime — the murder of Alex’s wife — with Alex Cross.
Day 3
In Mary, Mary, Alex Cross is in Hollywood and on the trail of one of the craziest killers he’s ever encountered.
Day 4
The fourth day of Christmas traditionally celebrates the Feast of the Innocents. But you won’t find many innocents in an Alex Cross novel. Today’s CROSSmas pick is the great detective’s latest adventure — The House of Cross.
Day 5
On the fifth day of CROSSmas I, James Patterson, recommend to you: I, Alex Cross.
Day 6
Ok, yeah, the price of eggs is high. But geese a-laying have nothing on Alex Cross. For the sixth day of CROSSmas, see how Alex defends himself when the tables of justice are turned in The People vs. Alex Cross.
Day 7
On the seventh day of CROSSmas, Alex Cross’s true love gave to him: a wedding! But does a sinister killer have another gift in mind? Find out in Cross Fire.
Day 8
On the eighth day of CROSSmas, I give you: The diabolical debut of ‘M’! Find out how the most notoriously brilliant sociopath Alex Cross ever faced got his start, in Criss Cross.
Day 9
Ladies dancing? Sure, that’s lovely. But for the ninth day of CROSSmas, how about an action-packed thriller instead? John Sampson gets a star turn in Fear No Evil.
Day 10
No lords take any leaps in Cross Down. Neither does Detective Cross, who is downed by a gunman, leaving John Sampson to solve the case alone. (When I think of Sampson these days, I can’t help but picture Isaiah Mustafa. Am I the only one?)
Day 11
For the eleventh day of CROSSmas, consider a classic: Kiss the Girls was the Morgan Freeman vehicle that diehard fans still buzz about. His portrayal was quieter and more reserved than Aldis Hodge’s in the new series, but I think both are fantastic — and equally indelible.
Day 12
Drumroll please! (See what I did there?) For the twelfth and final day of CROSSmas, I suggest to you … what else? … Merry Christmas, Alex Cross. It’s a fan favorite.
