Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment
I was a little wary at first of reading Maximum Ride; I never liked sci-fi books and thought that I never would. There finally came a point where I was so bored that I turned to this book as a last resort... and I have to say that I am so glad that I read it! Unlike some books, Maximum Ride got me hooked during the first chapter. I no longer cared if bird-like humans sounded totally ridiculous and highly implausible, the book was goooood!! I love James Patterson's' easy writing style, I never got confused and I was entertained the whole way. I highly recommend this novel, even if you are against reading sci-fi stuff, it is totally worth reading!

When I first picked up Maximum Ride, I was sort of hesitant; another sci-fi book that, honestly, would probably bore me to death. But boy...was I wrong. After reading the first chapter, I was instantly hooked-who would have known that a story about a winged-teenager would interest me to such depths? Maximum, who is called Max for short, is definitely not your ideal teenager. First off, she was wings. She is the leader of other winged kids-Fang, Angel, Nudge, Izzy and Gasman, and she takes care of them, and she is constantly chased by Erasers. Oh-and another thing- no one knows where they came from. Follow the adventures of Maximum Ride and her fellow winged friends as they search for answers. Answers about their past-where they came from, who they came from and why they are what they are. Maximum Ride is definitely a book to read-whether you're a sci-fier or not!

Maximum Ride had me hooked from start to finish. I loved it and cannot wait until the next book! Maximum Ride is about a 'flock' of genetically enhanced kids who have escaped from a 'school' set up by the government. The characters are very likable. Unlike most series where the story starts off a bit slow so you get to know the characters, this story starts off with a bang. You gradually get to know each characters personality or quirks through how they handle the situations thrown at them. One of my favorite parts of this book is the writing style. I'm a huge fan of first person stories because of the sarcastic remarks that fly out of the characters mouth. This book definitely has some laugh out loud remarks! I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who seems remotely interested. You won't regret it!

I'll admit that when I first saw James Patterson's Maximum Ride, I was skeptical that I could finish it two weeks' time. However, once I got into it, I finished it in two days. I absolutely loved the book-- it combined so many elements to create one great story! I really liked the sci-fi and fantasy feel of the book, but for those who aren't big fans of that type of writing, there is enough focus on the characters to tone it down to their liking. This book was down a new path for James Patterson, but it definitely worked! I am really excited for the next book, and hope that it takes me for another maximum ride!

I loved this book! It was sooo exciting and suspenseful that I literally jumped when something would happen. The narrator's voice was hilarious; I laughed out loud in the middle of my English class. It was a great book and I can't wait until the next one comes out.

Maximum Ride, by James Patterson, is an incredible book that deals with important subjects for our modern world. It raises moral questions about DNA experimentation, but also manages to deal with the issues and experiences that every teenager and child goes through. The best part, however, is that Maximum Ride does this questioning of our heart and minds in an entertaining and fun way.

Maximum Ride and her family of friends are DNA experiments from a 'school' where, as infants, their DNA was mixed with avian DNA to give them wings and other animal characteristics. Each of the six kids, Angel, the Gasman, Nudge. Iggy, Fang, and Maximum, have their special talents that emerge throughout the book. Maximum Ride, however, is saddled with the gifts for and duty of saving the world. Lucky her, huh? But first, she has to save Angel, the youngest of her "flock" from the 'school' scientists and from the Erasers, genetically enhanced man-wolf soldiers.

James Patterson's captivating story is one that I highly recommend. I commend him on his ability to take characters very different from ordinary teenagers and make them completely relatable to us normal people in all the important ways. Maximum Ride is not just human, but then again, she is.

To all readers, but especially to those who favor adventure and science fiction, read James Patterson's Maximum Ride: The Angel Experience. I promise that it is a "ride" worth taking.

I loved Maximum Ride. I could not put it down. I finished it in 1 day. While different than Patterson's When the Wind Blows, I still enjoyed reading more about the winged children. The little start of a romance between Max and Fang was cute. I can't wait for the next one to come out.

The book Maximum Ride by James Patterson is an excellent book. Its got suspense, comedy, and excitement. It's really easy to get into the book; it's even hard to put the book down because you always want to know what happens next. I already thought James was a good author but I think this book bets them all. I can't wait for the series. It is definitely a young adult book. It has a little cursing and some violence but it's not bad if you are mature.

Maximum Ride by James Patterson is about a teenage girl. Her job: to save the world by listening to some crazy voice. Unfortunately, she has the Erasers out to kill her and the rest of her flock. Yes, flock. Max is a genetically mutated girl, part human, part bird. As is her flock. This book is truly extraordinary, it takes you into the mind of a teenage girl who has only had one goal her entire life: to live to see the next day. It can be hard to relate to, because as far as I know, I'm not a bird-girl mutant, but the genuine love and caring she holds for the flock, Angle, Gasman, Fang, and Iggy is something I think I can relate to, only in terms of my own family and friends. Of course, she has other dilemmas, too, like where you can get the best chocolate chip cookies in New York, getting revenge, and figuring out what on earth compelled her to kiss Fang.

Maximum Ride is the first James Patterson novel I've had the opportunity to read. It's definitely a difference from the typical teen fluff lining the shelves at the local bookstore, yet contains enough familiar urban fantasy elements to make it work. Max is a strong female character, even if all the prophecy-like hints at her potential greatness gets bothersome after a while. There is the page-turner quality here, but it loses its way several times with long interludes of things that don't seem that necessary to the overall plot. I think Maximum Ride could even be split in half and not suffer for it.

As much as I would like to just say that Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment is by James Patterson and get it over with, even THAT extreme compliment wouldn't describe this work of perfection well enough. Mr. Patterson has outdone himself (yet again), but this is his first novel for young adults, and it sparkles. The main character, Max -Maximum Ride- is believable and realistic. These are things that would be running through a typical teenager's head, if the typical teenager was leading a flock of six children who could fly and trying to escape an evil establishment called The School. The other characters -Fang, Angel, Iggy, Gasman, and Nudge- are just as wonderful, each painting a vivid picture as unique and individual as the dialogue in this book. While the chapters are unusually short, this only adds to the book, as you can just read a chapter and put the book down when you need to do something slightly less important than James Patterson, such as eating or sleeping. While this book is completely fiction, it has characteristic of science-fiction, mystery, and even a little romance, and it is a wonderful book no matter what genre you are interested in. If I haven't convinced you to go out and read this book yet, here's the best reason I've got: it's by James Patterson.

I completely enjoyed the book Maximum Ride. It was definitely the best YA book I have read in months. I liked the action and found the main character Max extremely likable. I liked how strong she was and how she didn't give in, but at the same time she was vulnerable and needed her friends. The idea was very original to me and grabbed my interest right from the start. I stayed up the whole night immersed in the adventure she was having. I couldn't believe the book ended when it did with so many questions. I can't wait to find out what happens next! I enjoyed it so much that I read James Patterson's When the Wind Blows and The Lake House. I liked both of them also, but I preferred Maximum Ride, basically because I liked Max and all the other characters so much. I really look forward to reading the next book when it comes out so I can have the answers to some of my questions!

Maximum Ride: the title describes the book perfectly, not to mention introduces the main character of the novel to us. Written as the narrative thoughts of a young girl teen, Max, this book is both hilarious and serious. Warning: there are moments when the thoughts of this quirky teen may bring forth a random burst of laughter and other thoughts may bring forth a lone tear.

The story of a 'flock' on the run: six very different children, brought together as a family because of their genetic composition (98% human, 2% bird) and their past, striving to stay together (and alive) when everyone and everything in the world seems to be against them. Erasers, humans with wolf's genetic component and capable of transforming into their genetic counterpart at whim, are out to get our six comrades. What will happen? That question literally kept me on the edge of my seat for three days in a row, incapable of putting it down for more than a few hours.

I recommend this book to everyone and anyone who likes a good thriller/suspense novel with very modern ideas. I personally loved the 'genetic' spin; it's so 'today'. Anyhow, you read and decide for yourself, it's definitely worth the ride!

Haven't you ever wished you could fly? Fourteen-year-old Max has that ability-because she was genetically enhanced with bird DNA that gave her the wings and bone structure to fly. She, along with four other members of her adopted family, is on a quest to save their littlest sister Angel from the evil geniuses that created them. This fast-paced novel keeps you at the edge of your seat as you wonder what is going to happen next. The premise in many ways parallels TV's "Dark Angel," but the situations that Max encounters are entirely original. How will Max and her friends deal with their new-found abilities? And will they ever be able to lead a "normal" life? I am eagerly anticipating the sequel to this kick ass book!

James Patterson's Maximum Ride, is a thrilling adventure that keeps you hooked from page one. I was on the edge of my seat with anticipation of the next chapter. Five mutant children stranded in the real world is not nearly as tough as it sounds. In this book my definition of superheroes has been altered. Saving the world is the destiny of these five and they do not even know it. Max and her flock have bravery and courage in their blood and their determination to reach the end is indescribable. Usually, Sci-Fi is not my genre, but this story pulled me in and I could not put it down. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for the ride of their lives. (And plus, who doesn't love James Patterson?)

When I picked up Maximum Ride by James Patterson I was a bit worried that it wouldn't live up to his other works that I have enjoyed. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is such a cool book. The whole concept of the Erasers and the whole flock of part human part bird were terrific and really exciting. The adventure and constant excitement combined with short chapters made the whole book fly by and now I'm really looking forward to the next installment. James Patterson hit it right on the mark with this one and teens and adult fans alike are sure to enjoy Maximum Ride as much as I did.

I thought Maximum Ride was really good. At first I was a little apprehensive because it was a book about mutants and kids with wings but the actual story was really good. It was one of those books that you can't put down because you just have to know what happens next. You become very into what is happening to each character and by the end of the book you are as anxious as the characters are to find out how their real families are and where exactly they came from. This book also deals with choices and the things that people are willing to risk in order to save their friends and even complete strangers. Max is a character that makes you want to be a better person and to be honest all of the characters left me wishing I had some sort of "super-power" too!

Maximum Ride by James Patterson is not the kind of book that has a boring first 20 pages. This book jumps right into the action, and the action never stops. Absolutely thrilling. I was on the edge of my seat, completely drawn into the book. It's an adventure story about a group of kids who've been genetically altered so they have wings. They must flee the evil scientists who want to experiment with them, the Erasers, terrible wolf-humans, and who else? You can never tell just who the bad guys are, and the story keeps you guessing with intrigue. You'll read every word, as it's fairly sparsely written. Unfortunately, the ending was a bit of a let-down. This is the first book in series, and the end of it had very little conclusion. You are left hanging, as though it were the end of another chapter. I found that very disappointing. I wanted to know who everybody was. Through the whole story you wait for that moment when everything becomes clear and the characters understand what to do, but it never comes. The ending just calls for a sequel. Still, I enjoyed this book a lot until the last few pages, when I realized there was only a vague storyline to this book alone. I read it all in one sitting. I recommend it if you want to take your mind off something, because it provides a wonderful escape from reality. Not scary enough for nightmares, but it draws you in with the characters. I became totally oblivious to everything around me. Some aspects of the story aren't very believable, but it was still a lot of fun. I'm dying for more!
