The Holiday – I loved Nancy Myers' last 2 movies–What Women Want with Mel Gibson and Something's Gotta Give with Diane Keaton & Jack Nicholson–but I only liked The Holiday. It's certainly a fun movie for the holidays but it didn't have the same deft writing, or maybe it was the chemistry between the actors that didn't totally click.

Blood Diamond – I think this is a case of wanting to have your cake and eat it, too. The problem this deals with in Africa is a very serious, very real one–and at times this movie gets very Hollywood with respect to the plotline and love story. For me, at least, the marriage of the two wasn't completely satisfying. The movie definitely isn't boring, however. Hotel Rwanda meets Indiana Jones doesn't quite do it for me.
