Contraband

Not the handsomest looking film I've ever seen but the twists and turns come at a dizzying pace—and that's always a very positive thing for me.

Man on a Ledge

Makes about as much sense as the debate between Michele Bachmann and Carrot Top—but I found it to be a lot of fun to watch.

One for the Money

Not much pace, no suspense, occasionally funny. You know you're in some trouble when Debbie Reynolds gets more laughs than Katherine Heigl.

A Dangerous Method

Freud talks a lot. Jung talks a lot. Keira Knightley slips out beautifully and convincingly. If you're not into psychoanalysis this one probably isn't for you.

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

Critics were apparently all over the lot on this one—some loved it, some hated it. I'm in both camps. The acting was terrific. The story is highly emotional. But I didn't care nearly as much as I wanted to about any of it.

Haywire

The first half hour or so is pretty dreadful but it does get pretty involving. Two or three pretty terrific action sequences. Nothing all that special though.

Joyful Noise

The title pretty much says it all.
