The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

I like the book and was really looking forward to the movie. I found it was intelligently put together but surprisingly boring at times, and much too long. Noomi Rapace was great as Lisbeth.

Clash of the Titans

I had no intention of seeing this, but got dragged to the theater. I was pleasantly surprised. Good, goofy SFX fun—except the scenes with the gods—which were just goofy.

Date Night

Date Night is (like Bounty Hunter) a real mixed blessing. The comedy parts with Steve Carell and Tina Fey are funny and sometimes endearing. The crime story isn't particularly funny and it isn't suspenseful at all. The problem, I guess, is it's hard to get writers and directors who can do comedy and crime at the same time.

Kick-Ass

Kick-Ass is actually a fairly funny movie (at least for guys) but it's also a pretty ridiculous release. It has an R rating, and deserves it, and yet this is a movie about and starring very young kids. It's violent and foul-mouthed and I would have loved to have been in the meetings where they talked about who the audience was going to be.
