I've gotten to know Tyler on account of the upcoming Alex Cross film so I'm biased. But what can I say, I love Madea. She is one crazy/funny lady!
I love Don Winslow's novels, especially California Fire and Life, so I was at the theater the first day for Savages. Didn't much care about anybody for the first third, but then the story really hooked me. Cop-out ending of the year.
Ultra glitzy dance scenes contrast nicely with surprisingly real and affecting characterizations. Olivia Munn is really, really good.
Love the idea, love the trailer. The movie however is a bit of a one-trick teddy.
Once upon a time Woody Allen used to write funny, absurdist short stories and essays—a lot of which, if memory serves, were printed in the New Yorker. This film reminded me of that zany Woody Allen—and I missed him. Jack and Sue loved the movie as well.
