Q. Hey Mr. Patterson!

Just emailing you to comment on how much I enjoyed the last novel I read by you; Alex Cross.

As surprising as it MIGHT seem to you, I 'm from the Middle East and currently living there. I absolutely loved the book, and was upset when I eventually finished it. Just writing to you, hoping that you keep writing great novels like Alex Cross. Also, know that your fans are from everywhere and I hope that my letter to you inspires or brings hope to your continue writing! Take care, and good luck.

Your #1 Arab fan :)

...Faisal A.

A. Dear Faisal,

Glad to know that storytelling can cross boundaries and travel all around the world. And in honor of just that, here's a sneak preview: in the next book actually, Alex travels to Africa.

Wow, again am I flattered to get an email all the way from the Middle East. Spreading a love of books and reading is the reason that I write, and your note is a wonderful confirmation that it's possible to do just that.

Best,
JP
