Q. Hi James Patterson. My eleven-year-old son has spotted your books at supermarkets, bookstores, etc. and has recently been asking if he can read your books. Having not have read your books previously or presently, what do you think? Should I let him purchase the books?

...Brendan K.

A. Dear Brendan,

That's great news. Your son is so interested in reading that he's asking you to buy him books!

My passion is getting kids reading. As parents I think we do this by giving kids books they can't wait to read. And while my adult books are written with adults in mind, I've put some serious thought into the challenge. It's why I created The James Patterson Pageturners. They're books for readers 10 to 110 years old. The Maximum Ride books are part of the Pageturner group, and coming in July is the next Pageturner, The Dangerous Days of Daniel X.

I hope that these stories can provide excitement to parents and kids alike, much like a blockbuster movie the whole family goes to see.

Best,
JP
