1. TO ENTER: Enter above by providing your first name, last name, and email address and the submit using the button above between 12:00 AM Eastern Time ("ET") on 11/20/08 and 11:59PM ET on 11/26/08. Only an email address subscribed to and registered in an entrant's name may be used by such entrant. In the event of a dispute about entries submitted by multiple individuals using the same email account, entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized subscriber of the email account used to enter the sweepstakes at the actual time of entry. The authorized email account subscriber is deemed to be the natural person who is assigned an email address by an Internet-access provider, an online-service provider or another organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address. 2. ELIGIBILITY: The sweepstakes is open to James Patterson Community members or JamesPatterson.com newsletter subscribers who are legal residents of United States and Canada (void in Quebec) who are 18 years of age or older as of 11/20/08. Sweepstakes not open to employees, and their families, of Sponsor or any of their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, participating sponsor or any other company involved with the design, production, execution or distribution of the sweepstakes or prizes (collectively the "Affiliated Parties"). This offer is void wherever prohibited, and subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations.

3. RANDOM DRAWING: One (1) grand prize winner will be selected in a random drawing on or about 12/10/08 from among all eligible entries received. Decisions of the Sponsor are final and binding. Odds of winning will depend on number of eligible entries received. Winner will be notified by email. If a Canadian resident is selected, he/she will be required to correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question in order to be eligible for the prize.

4. SWEEPSTAKES PRIZES: One (1) Winner: The winners will get first four books in the Alex Cross series. Approximate retail value ("ARV") of the prize is from $40. The winner will be responsible for all federal, state, local and/or sales taxes for the prize. No warranty or guarantee will be given by Sponsor with respect to any prize. Any and all guarantees and warranties are subject to the manufacturer's or service provider's terms and conditions, and the winner agrees to look solely to such entity for any such warranty or guarantee claim. Prizes are non-transferable. No substitution, cash redemption, assignment or transfer of prize permitted, except by Sponsor, who reserves the right in its sole discretion to substitute a prize with another prize of greater or equal value. Winner will be sent an affidavit of eligibility and a publicity release form. In addition, the winner will be required to verify their address and age and present evidence of residence if instructed by Sponsor.

GENERAL: No responsibility is assumed for viruses, technical, hardware, software or other online entry malfunctions of any kind or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled or delayed electronic communications caused by the sender, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the sweepstakes which may limit the ability to participate, or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entry for the sweepstakes. If the Sweepstakes is not capable of being conducted as described in these Official Rules, Sponsor shall have the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. In such an event, Sponsor reserves the right to choose winner from all eligible entries received. Mutilated entries will not be accepted. Multiple or duplicate entries received will be disqualified. If the winner is unwilling to accept the prize, an alternate winner may be selected. Prize is nontransferable, and substitution is not allowed, except by the Sponsor, who reserves the right to award a prize of equal or greater value. All federal, state and local taxes, if any, related to a prize are the responsibility of the individual winner. Sponsor makes no representation about the condition or fitness of any part of the prize. Prize will not be awarded until affidavit of publicity and release forms are completed and returned. An additional statement of eligibility and execution of certain release forms may be required prior to the award of the prize. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission of winner to use his/her name, voice and likeness/image for promotional advertising, publicity or trade purposes in any and all media worldwide in perpetuity by Sponsor and Affiliated Parties without further compensation except where prohibited by law.
